What we are About
Life has felt pretty dark for the last few years, with 2020 being the darkest year yet. Wildfires, climate change, corrupt and dangerous political leaders, social unrest, systemic racism, economic inequality, and a global pandemic that has claimed so many lives and robbed us of so much, including time with loved ones, dominate our every waking moment.
In response and in defiance, a motley crew of friends and soon-to-be friends will gather together (virtually at first, and in person when safe) to create a giant, silly, magnificent work of life-affirming art and engineering and enter it into the 2022 Kinetic Sculpture Race, an event founded in response to a similarly dark time in American history – a time of social unrest, corrupt politicians, energy crises, and war. Our spiritual ancestors did not despair and neither shall we! Our courage, work, friendship, creativity, art, and physical toil will stand for hope and for the triumph of the unbroken human spirit in the face of every adversity!
