Embracing the Mediocrity: Team Plan Bee Wins the ‘Mediocre Award’ with Pride!

The Kinetic Grand Championship spans three thrilling days and covers a diverse terrain of 50 miles, ranging from sandy beaches to rugged hills. Participants navigate through sand, highways, rivers, mud, oceans, and formidable hills, facing a test of both endurance and creativity. While speed is a factor in scoring, the race also rewards pageantry, bribery, and, perhaps most importantly, a positive attitude. The scoring system may seem complex, but the essence is clear: it’s about embracing the spirit of adventure and camaraderie.

Amidst this whirlwind of challenges and excitement, Team Plan Bee emerged victorious in our very first year of competition – albeit with a unique distinction. We proudly accepted the Mediocre Award, a tribute to our ability to land precisely in the middle of the pack. With it came a handmade trophy and even a broken-down Honda scooter, symbolizing the perfect blend of achievement and humility. It’s a testament to our team’s spirit – not too shabby, or perhaps just shabby enough, depending on how you look at it.

As we reflect on our journey, we cherish this award as a badge of honor, celebrating the harmonious balance between effort and enjoyment. In the unpredictable adventure of the Kinetic Grand Championship, every triumph, no matter how “mediocre,” is a testament to the resilience and camaraderie of Team Plan Bee.

We won a broken scooter as part of the mediocre award! Glorious! Even better- we fixed it up, bought a helmet, Amelia gave it a colorful paint job, and we donated it back to next year’s mediocre winner!
